Home Authority Principle

PROSAFE has further developed the principle of a home authority in the framework of a couple of Joint Market Surveillance Actions: JA2011 and JA2012.

The ‘Home-Authority’ Task Working Group was formed from JA2011 participants who were interested to participate to varying degrees in this particular subject matter. The following participating authorities from various Member States have all assisted to different degrees in developing this document:

  • Belgium – FPS Economy, SMEs, Self-Employed and Energy
  • The Czech Republic - The Czech Trade Inspection Authority
  • Denmark – The Danish Safety Technology Authority
  • France - DGCCRF
  • Germany - Bavarian State Ministry for Environment and Consumer Protection
  • Ireland – National Consumer Agency
  • Malta - Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority
  • Spain - Agency for Consumer Affairs, Food Safety and Nutrition
  • Sweden - Swedish Consumer Agency
  • The Netherlands - The National Food & Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA)
  • The United Kingdom - Trading Standards Institute (which took the leading role for this Activity)
