Project Coordinator at PROSAFE and JA2016 Electrical Appliances Task Coordinator
Andrew Gordon has worked in the area of electrical product safety for over 30 years. He began his career in the white goods manufacturing industry rising to the role of approvals manager responsible for worldwide product certification. In 1995 he joined the UK Consumers’ Association where he represented the interests of consumers on European and International technical committees and working groups. In 2002 he moved to Intertek as head of the product safety department where he developed a range of regulatory compliance services for economic operators along with training programmes for EU market surveillance officers.
Andrew has been an independent product safety consultant since 2009. He has written several product safety articles and his expert opinion is often sought in safety cases. He is a UKAS Technical Assessor under ISO 17025 and ISO 17065. He was the activity coordinator for the first PROSAFE Joint Action for household electrical appliances JA2015. He is currently coordinating the second PROSAFE Joint Action on household electrical appliances, JA2016.
