Jeremy Tait of Tait Consulting GmbH is a mechanical engineer and electrical appliance policy specialist for ecodesign and energy labelling. He has over twenty-five years’ experience working with Governments, national and international agencies and business on improving the energy efficiency and sustainability of appliances and equipment. Jeremy has led development of test methods (technical standards), design of energy label performance thresholds and minimum standards and worked closely with market surveillance authorities to develop good practice for assessment of technical documentation, appliance lab testing and compliance verification. Jeremy’s recent work has included implementing energy efficiency standards for electric motors in Egypt with market surveillance strategy, work package facilitator on EEPLIANT2 EU market surveillance project, developing appliance repairability assessment methodologies and training market surveillance inspectors in Montenegro on energy labelling and ecodesign.

Fiona Brocklehurst is a sustainable energy consultant with significant experience in renewable energy and energy efficiency. She has provided expert support to Government departments on environmental policy including energy using products, renewable energy and evaluation. She provides both breadth and depth of expertise with a good eye for detail and excellent technical understanding. Fiona has worked for seventeen years on energy efficient products (lighting and appliances) for a range of customers including, the Australian, EU, UK and US governments, IEA 4E (Efficient Electrical End-Use Equipment Implementing Agreement), ProSafe and CLASP. Work has included research, modelling, impact assessment, analysis, market research, market surveillance, evaluation, stakeholder consultation and project management.

Chris Evans uniquely combines many years of experience of coordinating the testing work of EU MSAs with previous experience of managing an EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited testing laboratory. He was the coinstigator of the EEPLIANT market surveillance projects and has worked with PROSAFE as their senior manager responsible for the technical management of the activities undertaken by the MSAs in those projects. Parallel to these activities, Chris has continued to work as a market surveillance advisor specialising in energy labelling and ecodesign in Australia, China, Russia, Turkey, and Vietnam.

As expert / consultant, Ms. Sophie Attali has developed an expertise in the field of energy policy and energy efficiency, especially in the area of energy consuming products. She has worked on many projects for various institutions: energy agencies, international agencies, utilities and NGOs. She has been honored with the European Women in Energy Award in 2020.

With 25 years of experience, her experience includes:

  • Market transformation: product policies (labeling, MEPS, International Standards, Market Surveillance) their definition and implementation, market pull activities, technology and cooperative procurement, training, communication towards targeted stakeholders (MSAs, manufacturers, retailers, large-scale public and private buyers, opinion relays including NGOs, end-users and the media).
  • European institutional and policy framework (energy labelling, eco-design, energy services, low energy buildings).
  • Demand side management: up-stream research on DSM mechanisms in different electricity environments, program design and implementation.
  • Institutional capacity building: organization of training sessions for newly established energy agencies or new personnel.
  • Project coordination: Several major European projects gathering more than 15 countries.
  • Conference organization: Conference manager for over 10 years of the European Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (eceee) summer study gathering 450 persons.

Jonathan Wood works as a technical consultant at Tenvic. His key expertise is the provision of technical support into Market Surveillance Joint Actions on information technology (IT) equipment with a particular emphasis on networked connected equipment. He has almost twenty years’ experience of dealing with EU legislative measures on IT equipment.
