The Project Structure: 4 Work Packages (WP):
- WP-0: Management & Dissemination
- WP-1: Gas-fired Space Heaters
- WP-2: Development of a common approach to the market surveillance of large TPE for the transport of class 2 gases
- WP-3: USB Chargers
Participants: 22 Market Surveillance Authorities (MSAs) from 21 European Union (EU) Member States
Countries involved in the Gas-fired Space Heaters activity: Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Luxemburg, Malta, Portugal, Spain and Slovakia. Switzerland shall participate as an observer outside the financial scheme.
Countries involved in the tanks for transport of class 2 gases activity: Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Latvia, Slovenia. Switzerland shall participate as an observer outside the financial scheme.
Countries involved in the USB-chargers activity: Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Sweden. Switzerland shall participate as an observer outside the financial scheme.
The Objective:
The Joint Action aims to raise the level of market surveillance in the product areas concerned, thereby contributing to a more uniform application of the rules set out in the applicable EU harmonised legislation and improving the safety of the products sold on the Internal Market.
The project was created in close collaboration with three Administrative Cooperation (AdCo) groups to best target products ands activities based on the current needs and requirements of their member authorities. These groups are:
- The AdCo Gas Appliances Regulation (EU) 2016/426
- The AdCo Low Voltage – Directive (LVD) 2014/35/EU
- The AdCo Transportable Pressure Equipment (TPED) – Directive 2010/35/EU.
The project is co-funded by the European Commission/DG GROW under the action “EU support to joint market surveillance actions for non-food products” and coordinated by PROSAFE.
