CALL FOR FACILITATORS - JAHARP2020-1

PROSAFE is launching a call for facilitators in the context of the EU co-funded project JAHARP2020-1, part of the JAHARP2020 Triplet of projects/Joint Actions, coordinated by PROSAFE. JAHARP2020-1 consists of two product-specific market surveillance activities related to (i) Gas cooking hobs and hot plates (Work Package 1), and (ii) Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) on connected devices (Work Package 3), and one horizontal (Work Package 2). The project runs from May 2021 to May 2023 (24 months).

PROSAFE is seeking consultancy services to fill two positions which will soon become vacant.

This Call for Tenders covers the JAHARP2020-1 activities on: 

1) Gas cooking hobs and hot plates (Work Package 1): Gas cooking hobs for domestic use and gas cooking hot plates and hobs for use in leisure vehicles (caravans, motor caravans, mobile homes and boats) are gas cooking appliances for household use within the scope of Regulation (EU) 2016/426. 

2) Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) on connected devices (Work Package 3): (e.g. smartwatches for children, connected toys, location tracking devices, smartphones, and others, under Radio Equipment Directive  2014/53/EU): All electronic devices that can generate electromagnetic fields (e.g. mobile phones, smartwatches, toys, etc.) must meet the exposure regulation, which is set well below the level that laboratory testing indicates. Radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic field may penetrate exposed tissues and produce heating due to energy absorption. The depth of penetration depends on the frequency of the field and is greater for lower frequencies. Absorption of RF fields in tissues is measured as a Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) within a given tissue mass.
