Building market surveillance
The Joint Action on Harmonised Products 2022 – JAHARP2022 has started! The project launched the First Press Release to display scope, activities, and timelines. JAHARP2022 is a portfolio of projects co-funded by the European Union that comprises 7 product areas and 2 horizontal/capacity building activities.
The JAHARP2020 Triplet publishes its Final Press Release showcasing the final results, the main conclusions from the activities, and the policy recommendations to improve the level of Market Surveillance in the European Union.
The JAHARP2020 was a 24-month EU-co-funded triplet of projects that started in May 2021 and was completed in May 2023. 29 Market Surveillance Authorities (MSAs) from 22 EU Member States worked together to assess the safety of products for seven sector-specific areas against the requirements of the Union legislation and the applicable standards. Participating MSAs were also involved in two capacity-building activities aimed to create a cross-border harmonised approach for both the products' administrative requirements and the market surveillance activities for large TPE (tanks) transporting class 2 gases.
The JAHARP2020 Triplet activities are coming close to an end. The Triplet involved 29 Market Surveillance Authorities (MSAs) from 22 EU Member States and represented a powerful tool to increase the level of Market Surveillance for a wide array of sectors and activities.
In spite of all the challenges, the participants successfully completed all tasks and are ready to discuss project final results, takeaways from activities, and policy recommendations at the Final Conference of the JAHARP2020 Triplet on 12 May 2023.
The Joint Market Surveillance Action on Harmonised Products - JAHARP2021 Omnibus publishes its First Newsletter showcasing the outcome of the Progress Workshop held on 31 March 2023.
The online Event was attended by more than 70 experts and officers from MSAs and the European Commission. Participants received updates on the progress of the work carried out in the ten Joint Actions, and discussed both the practical benefits created for the actors involved and the challenges encountered.
