JAHARP18 Final Press Release

The JAHARP18 Joint Action publishes its Final Press Release showcasing the project’s outputs and results.

The JAHARP18 Joint Action was a 34-month EU co-funded project that started in November 2019 and was completed in August 2022. Eleven Market Surveillance Authorities (MSAs) from 9 EU Member States cooperated to assess the safety of 30 recreational craft and 60 portable room heaters against the requirements of the applicable standards and Union regulations. The results from inspections, which included checks on technical documentation and product testing, were discussed with the relevant stakeholders in two separate closing events held at the end of August 2022. PROSAFE – The Product Safety Forum of Europe was the project coordinator.

JAHARP18 Second Newsletter

Three months before the end of JAHARP18 and two years and a half after the start of this Joint Market Surveillance Action on Harmonised Products, it is time for an update on the preliminary findings.

In total, 11 Market Surveillance Authorities sampled and tested 30 models of recreational craft and 60 models of portable room heaters for product safety. The Second Newsletter is presenting the JAHARP18 overall inspection and testing results with follow-up actions with Economic Operators still ongoing. The final results of this Joint Action will be published in the final Press Release at the end of the project together with the Layman version of the final report.

JAHARP2021 Omnibus - Launch Press Release

The Joint Action on Harmonised Products 2021 – JAHARP2021 Omnibus has started! The project launched the first Press Release to display scope, activities, and timelines. JAHARP2021 Omnibus is a portfolio of projects co-funded by the European Union that comprises 7 product areas and 3 horizontal/capacity building activities.

PROSAFE is organising its next General Assembly in May 2022 and is looking for new members!

Navigating the new landscape for market surveillance shaped by the emerging new realities for the European economies and societies is the clear challenge ahead of us.

It is now the time for a restart. To power-up the biggest market surveillance grid in place, to overhaul existing challenges and respond to these new realities arm-in-arm by generating greater efficiencies, there is a need to fast-track knowledge fusion across the harmonised sectors and scale up innovation in market surveillance.
